Day and night in Arashiyama

(Disclaimer: the two sets of photos were not taken on the same day…)

Back in 2015, I had the opportunity to meet my cousin and his wife while they were touring around Japan. Of course, we had to spend some time in Kyoto, and I ended up walking through the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove for the first time. Fast forward a year and a half later, I found myself wandering down the same path, except at night and with friends instead of family. Regardless of the season or the time, exploring the area was a highlight of both trips, which is why I’ve decided to post them here together.

Also featured in the photos are Kinkaku-ji, Daikaku-ji, a tofu restaurant named Sagano, ice-cream from Kinana, the Okochi-Sanso Villa, and winter illuminations.

Enjoy the pictures!
